A pleasant warm-up
Catarpe - San Bartolo
The 4×4 drops you off in the Catarpe valley.
Start the walk at the Devil’s Gorge bridge, follow the Rio San Pedro up to the mouth of the Rio Salado, observe the petroglyphs (rock art used by ancestral tribes as a means of communication), stop for a picnic.
You then take the trail along the Rio San Bartolo to reach the lodge where you spend the night.
On this trek, you’ll come into contact with wild animals such as guanacos, donkeys and birds of prey, for a total immersion in nature that’s both rugged and majestic.
This trek is a great warm-up for the rest of the trip.
