Tour itinerary

We'll leave early to take advantage of the giant fumaroles that form in the main geothermal field. There, we will have breakfast in the company of the Andean seagulls while the guide will explain the geology and scientific phenomena of the area.

Afterwards, we will go to the mud geysers, a little known site that offers a completely different landscape from the main geothermal field. We will walk between the different wells and our guide will give you more explanations about this specific area.

We will continue to the white geysers formed by natural thermal wells. A secret place where you will be able to take a bath in total tranquillity.

Chiu-Chui

We will continue towards the northwest, to discover the typical villages of Chiu-Chui and Caspana, known for their religious festivals. We will take a path only accessible by 4x4 vehicles where you will be able to fully enjoy the beauty of the landscapes.

In San Francisco de Chiu-Chiu, we will visit one of the oldest churches in Chile. Built-in 1540 with adobe, the church of Chui-Chui is in an excellent state of conservation. "

Caspana

We will have lunch in a local restaurant before discovering the village of Caspana, situated 85 km north of Calama. The Pukará de Lasana, as well as its church and bell tower, have been part of the heritage since the 17th century and the last two were declared Historical Monuments in 1951.

At the end of the tour, you will have the possibility to stay at the airport in Calama or to return to San Pedro de Atacama.
